Dual JD/MS Environmental Science
Rising interest in the connection between sustainable economic development and environmental protection has increased the demand for persons with both legal and technical training. In response to this demand the University of Idaho College of Law and the University of Idaho College of Graduate Studies/Environmental Science Program offer a concurrent degree program.
To be eligible for the concurrent JD/MS program, a person first must apply separately and be admitted into each program and then be admitted into the Concurrent Degree Program. Admission into the concurrent degree program is dependent on a demonstrated ability to excel in an intense, interdisciplinary educational environment. The program is designed to allow students to obtain both a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the College of Law as well as a Master of Science in Environmental Science (MS) from the College of Graduate Studies in as few as eight semesters.
The concurrent JD/MS degree program offers students an opportunity to combine the study of scientific, social, philosophical, and legal aspects of environmental issues. As a concurrent program, it requires students to satisfy the degree requirements of each college separately to receive both degrees. Specific degree requirements for each program can be obtained by contacting each college separately.
